Adrienne Cooper Dreaming in Yiddish

The 7th annual benefit concert celebrating Adrienne Cooper (1946-2011), a Yiddish singer and scholar who helped launch the revival of klezmer music and traditions worldwide, including in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The 2018 concert honors singer/composer Yefim “Fima” Chorny and pianist Suzanna Ghergus of Kishinev, Moldova with the Adrienne Cooper Dreaming in Yiddish Award.

 

Also featuring a host of the Yiddish music leading lights including Cooper’s daughter Sarah Gordon, Daniel Kahn, Marilyn Lerner, Ilya Shneyveys, Pete Rushefsky, Frank London, Michael, and other special guests.

The concert is a part of Yiddish New York (YNY), the Yiddish Culture Festival in New York, December 22-27, 2018. Free for YNY registrants.
