Celebrating May 1 With Love

Joseph Balaz 30 April, 2018

Well, another May 1 is ahead of us. For the followers of the Czech romantic poet, Karel Hynek Macha, it represents a day of poetic love. Some of you might join street marches in support of workers’ rights. Fellow anarchists might burn a car or two and ransack a couple of stores to express their opposition to globalization. Yet many will be relishing the almost imminent arrival of the warm season.

At the Bohemian National Hall, we are celebrating May 1 with love… Vaclav Havel kind of love. We are inviting you to join a very successful program of Havel Conversations, this time in front of a live audience. Gail Papp will talk about her encounters with Vaclav Havel, when he came to the U.S. in 1968 on the invitation of her late husband Joe Papp, and Carol Rocamora will lead us through the courageous acts of Vaclav Havel in the theater world.

See you at our events.

Yours,

Joseph Balaz, President
Bohemian Benevolent & Literary Association
