Czech Language Playgroup: Singalong (Zpivanky)

  • Bohemian Benevolent & Literary Association 321 East 73rd Street New York, NY, 10021 United States (map)

A monthly Czech program for children 3-7 years old with parents. In our March edition, kids will explore beloved Czech children’s songs. Our singing will be accompanied on ukulele and guitar by a musical duo, sisters Doubrava and Daniela Krautschneider.

We will share, play, color, craft, dance, and – most importantly – sing. Do you know some popular Czech folk songs, such as “Když jsem já sloužil” or “Já jsem muzikant”? If not, don’t worry. You and your little one will learn them, and many other favorites, with us. If you know the songs, even better – come and sing along right from the very start.

Please bring a snack for your child. You are welcome to contribute a small item for our shared table as well.

Registration fee: $10 per child, due at the door (cash only, please). Online registration is open until Thursday, March 5.

ABOUT

CZECH LANGUAGE PLAYGROUP is a monthly Czech program for children 3-7 years old with parents. Siblings of other ages are welcome. The main objective of the playgroup is to provide young children in the community with the opportunity to spend a few hours in a Czech-speaking environment with their peers, and to bring Czech and Czech-American families together.

The event is organized by the Czechoslovak Society of Arts and Sciences (SVU), New York Chapter, with the support of BBLA, the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in New York and Czech Center New York.
