BBLA–DAHA is pleased to announce the acquisition of a Steinway grand piano, a magnificent addition that will enrich the solo and chamber music programming presented in the third-floor performance space of historic Bohemian National Hall.

The piano will be inaugurated on February 19, 2026, at a gala concert organized by the Dvorak American Heritage Association, honoring the renowned Czech pianist Rudolf Firkusny, himself a Steinway artist. One of today’s most acclaimed pianists, Yefim Bronfman—a distinguished student of Firkusny at The Juilliard School and also a Steinway artist—will perform on this special occasion.

The tradition of the Steinway piano within the Czech community reaches back to the New York residency of composer Antonin Dvorak, who was among the earliest “Steinway artists.” During his stay from 1892 to 1895 on East 17th Street, Dvorak was provided with a superb Steinway instrument for his apartment. It was at this piano that he composed some of his greatest works while serving as Director of the National Conservatory of Music of America.
