Spejbl, Hurvinek, and Manicka

The Spejbl and Hurvinek Theatre in Prague presents a special performance in Czech featuring the beloved marionette family of the father Spejbl and his son Hurvinek, whose witty banter has delighted audiences worldwide for over a century. They will be joined by Hurvinek's best friend Manicka and the dog Zeryk.

You will be transported to a world of playful, kind, and sweet conversations, full of exaggeration and verbal humor that have entertained generations of viewers worldwide. What fun does Hurvinek have in school? And what troubles does his father have with his naughty son? What adventures does Hurvinek have with his bestie Manicka?

The 100-year-old Czech puppetry tradition is on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List.

The show is about 40 minutes long, with no intermission. All ages are welcome.

Free and open to the public. Suggested donation $15. Seats are limited, on first-come first-served basis.

This event is organized by the Czechoslovak Society of Arts and Sciences  (SVU), New York, and the Spejbl and Hurviner Theatre in Prague, with the support of the Bohemian Benevolent and Literary Association (BBLA) and Marta Kotyzova.
